1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
-Probably hour 23 (my hour 19[I think], 6am-7am)
2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
-Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy, if you're into that sort of thing.
3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
-Perhaps organizing cheerleading a little better, but besides that I thought it ran pretty well from a reader perspective
4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?
- I liked the fair range of mini-challenges, and change of R-a-t hosts every few hours. (although I don't know if they was any different from last time, as this was my first time...)
5. How many books did you read?
- 5 (but only finished 4)
6. What were the names of the books you read?
- House of Leaves, Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy, Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, and Doppelganger
7. Which book did you enjoy most?
-I refuse to pick favourites.
8. Which did you enjoy least?
-Actually, I rather enjoyed all 5 of the books. (I only stopped reading HoL because it was too difficult a read for a thing like this)
9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?
- I was not a Cheerleader, sorry.
10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?
- Oh at least a 90% certainty! I really liked it. I'll probably take up the role of a reader again, but who knows maybe I'll step it up and become a cheerleader too.

Final(?) R-A-T Update
Well, it seems we have a single official hour left in this endevour, and I have to say it's been fun.
I have a little less than 2/3's of Paper Towns left to read (I'll probably try and finish it before I sleep, even if I end up going past 8:00)
In summation
I finished Hitchiker's guide to the galaxy, looking for alaska, and doppleganger and Started house of leaves. by the end I will have finished paper towns, falling short of my 5 book goal, but coming pleasently close.
All-in-all I don't think I did too terribly for my first read-a-thon. It was fun, and I hope to do one again some time! :3

R-A-T Update
I finished doppelganger, starting Paper Towns(which will probably prove to be my final book of the night). Opening the window and switching chairs helped. So did some tea. Off to read.
R-A-T Update
Solid Halfway through Doppelganger.
I'm going to open the window to keep myself awake, I think, and sit in a solid chair instead of my bed.
Tiredness level: I could definitely sleep, but I will forge on!

rat update
Since we last met our main character has made dinner for herself and her sister, made and drank a pot of tea, and almost finished Looking For Alaska. Up next: Doppelganger
Side note: She apologizes for her slowness, she is distracted easily, but promises you and herself that she will be reading more solidly as things quiet down and everyone else starts to go to bed.

Read-a-thon update #1
Ouch, after a major setback (A birthday dinner for my uncle I just found out about this morning And that lasted a lot longer than it needed to.) my particpation in this thing looks wimpy. I only managed to finish hitchiker's guide and get 20 pages into House of leaves. I gotta get off and kick my ass into gear.
Dewey's 24 Hour read-a-thon
Oh Hai. A couple weeks ago I signed up for a read-a-thon.
In my reading pile there are7 books,
1- Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy....which I just need to finish (approximately 70 or so pages left)
2- House of Leaves;
3- Patient Zero;
4- Doppelganger;
5- Discordia;
6- Paper Towns;
7- Looking For Alaska;
And an audio book- Darwin's Radio;
I realize that I'm a little late to the start (a couple HOURS late) so I'm going to read past 8 (if I make it that long) to make up lost time.
My goal is to read 5/7 books on my reading list in the coming hours. I'll update every 3 hours or so.

Hour 1` meme:
Where are you reading from today?: Middle-of-Nowhere Ohio
3 facts about me: I'm a nerdfighter, I can play 3 instruments passably, the walls of my room are filled with tempra paint doodles by my friends
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? 7
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon? To read 5/7 books.
If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time? This is my first time.

Why? I'll tell you why.
As a toddler, I would beg my mom to read to me.
As a young child, I would read 'all by myself' instead of watching TV
As an older child and a pre-teen, I would expand my library and read for pleasure
As a teenager.....I discovered the internet.
For about three years, I've been reading sporadically if at all, letting what little I do come from the internet or school assignments, or little things to read between classes. I didn't read in my free time, just in the spare seconds between classes. It'd take me months to finish a book, if I ever did finish one. Recently however, my school decided that everyone must have a study hall, so I used that study hall to go to the school's (slightly sub-par) library. The first book I picked up, with the the tell-tale crinkling of library protection and the smell of slightly aged books, welcomed me back. It is my goal to become the book nerd that I once was, to poke and prod that old passion for reading and bring it back.
I plan to track my progress through this blog, through posting short book reviews, requesting books to read, and occasionally posting lame excuses, anything. My hope is that, by the time a year has come and gone, I will have picked reading back up, dusted it off, and bring love back to my neglected bookshelves.
